ABOUT

I started a private practice to offer the privacy, freedom, and more personal care that I couldn’t give people when I was limited by what insurance considered to be “worthy” of therapy.

I live in the Bay Area with my husband and two children. I provide therapy to anyone in the state of California and have been licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT #53746) since 2013. I am also a BBS Clinical Supervisor and can provide external supervision for those working towards licensure.

I believe in making sessions a comfortable space where everyone is accepted and valued. Too often therapists either talk too much or leave empty awkward silences leaving people confused or uneasy. Therapy can be uncomfortable, even kind of hard and painful at times, but we can’t get to those places where growth and change happen if our time in session is not comfortable together. “What are you talking about, I’m never comfortable in any social interaction!” you may be asking. I know, I get it. But I bring a warmth and easiness to interactions (if I do say so myself lol), and don’t judge people for being human and making human mistakes. That may seem obvious because I’m a therapist, but we all know what it feels like to sit in our own embarrassment or shame while you can tell the person you’re with is rolling their eyes on the inside. I’ve felt that way with other therapists sometimes! Sometimes people just don’t click and that’s ok too. Research continuously shows the therapeutic bond you have with your therapist is what really brings about improved outcomes. Maybe you’ll feel comfortable with me when we talk, maybe you won’t. But you’ll never know if we never talk, and reaching out to different therapists to get a feel for them is really important if you want therapy to be sustainable and effective.

I’m happy to answer any questions you have and offer a free phone call to see if we’d be a good fit. Email, call or text me.
